Maize and Teosinte BAM files

These maize and teosinte BAM files were generated as part of the Maize HapMap 2 project. This subset of the project includes inbred teosinte and inbred maize landrace lines that were used to study the patterns of demography and selection that have persisted since maize domestication. Notably, the levels of genetic diversity demonstrated in these lines show that recent explosive population size growth in maize has led to in increase in the efficiency of purifying selection at purging deleterious alleles from the maize population.
